10 NIO V2G destination stations are online.

On January 9, the first 10 V2G charging stations in NIO Shanghai were officially put into operation. In addition to exploring orderly charge and discharge modes in typical scenes such as parks, office buildings and shopping malls, NIO and Shanghai Power Grid took the lead in experimenting with orderly charge and discharge in residential communities in Fengxian area. While providing users with a convenient power-up experience, it can effectively help absorb clean energy.

V2G is Vehicle-to-Grid (vehicle to grid), also known as bi-directional inverter charging technology, that is, electric vehicles can not only obtain power from the power grid, but also feedback the energy from the vehicle battery to the power grid. Electric vehicle is a huge electric sponge. The application of V2G technology can realize the function of distributed mobile energy storage unit of electric vehicle. It can charge when the power consumption is low and discharge outward when the power consumption is at its peak. In order to achieve green energy consumption, reduce the impact on the external environment, but also provide certain economic returns for electric vehicle owners.

V2G technology represents the integration of transportation and energy in the future, and is a model of harmonious symbiosis between technology and environment. On January 4, the National Development and Reform Commission, the National Energy Administration, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the General Administration of Market Supervision and Administration and other departments issued the implementation opinions on strengthening the Integration and interaction between New Energy vehicles and the Power Grid, which clearly put forward the medium-and long-term development goals of vehicle-network interaction, and encouraged the comprehensive promotion of orderly charging applications and V2G model demonstration.

NIO has been exploring and innovating in the field of car-network interaction, and has participated in peak trimming and valley filling activities since 2019, multiple active peak shifting measures to alleviate grid pressure, and actively pilot V2G orderly charging. At present, NIO has put into V2G charging and discharge piles in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Qilian Mountain National Park and other places. On October 28th, 2023, the NIO energy vehicle network interaction project was included in the "Shanghai Public charging facilities vehicle Network interaction" demonstration project, and NIO is also the only car company selected in the project.

NIO will continue to actively participate in promoting the large-scale development of vehicle-network interaction, promote the construction of V2G stations, promote clean energy consumption, reduce power grid load, implement the vision of Blue sky coming, and make a contribution to the national power security.
