BYD started from scratch and invested a lot of resources to develop AC and DC charging technology in household and public domains. In order to solve the charging technical problems, BYD took the lead in realizing a breakthrough in charging technology from 0 to 1. Both at the end of the car and at the end of the pile, both developed AC and DC charging technology in home and public domain, which also provided a reference model for national standard AC and DC charging standards, and became the first batch of drafting units of electric vehicle charging standards in China.

800V High Voltage platform and boost charging Technology

first of all, BYD created the world's first 800V high-voltage platform for passenger cars as early as 2015, marking the beginning of a new era of high-voltage technology for electric vehicles eight years ago. 

The technology is carried on models such as Qin EV (2015) and Tang DM (2015). Can achieve 100 km acceleration as fast as 4 seconds, pure electric mileage can reach 450km, fast charge power up to 60kW. However, although high-voltage models greatly increased the charging power of electric vehicles, at that time, 95% of the domestic low-voltage piles were less than 500V, which were incompatible with high-voltage models, affecting the charging efficiency. In order to solve this problem, BYD pioneered boost charging technology in the world, which completely realized the compatibility of vehicle piles and fully adapted all DC charging piles.

It can be said that at that time, before the emergence of fast charging technology in the domestic automobile market, BYD created the 800V high voltage charging platform, and Porsche did not keep up with this technology until four years later, and in order to solve the actual charging efficiency problem, the first step-up charging technology is completely in the forefront of the industry.

The technology of overcharging with vehicle and double gun

for current models, there are not a small number of overcharged models, but there are only 2% of public overcharged piles with current over 300A, fast charging piles are widely used, and overcharged piles are extremely scarce. for this reason, BYD launched an upflow scheme that is more in line with the national conditions of charging in China, and the world's first double-gun overcharging technology for passenger cars, through this technology to achieve short-term multi-replenishment, so that public fast-charging piles can be changed into overcharged piles in a second, taking Teng Teng N7 as an example. The maximum power of double-gun overcharge can reach 230kW, and the public fast charging pile can be recharged for 15 minutes. 

After all, for the current charging piles, except for the relative shortage of Chinese New year holidays, the charging piles are idle most of the time, and the double-gun overcharging technology not only makes full use of the public pile resources, but also greatly reduces the charging time. More with one stone.

And because the upflow technology has higher requirements for battery thermal management, BYD pioneered the compound direct cooling technology in the world. Through the design of laying straight cooling plates on both sides of the battery and two sets of refrigerant independent control systems, the compensated flow channel design was carried out. The cooling area of the battery is increased by 100%, and the heat transfer capacity is increased by more than 85%, thus protecting the safety of the battery to a greater extent.

The world's first full-scene intelligent pulse self-heating technology

For example, BYD pioneered the full-scene intelligent pulse self-heating technology, which realized the fast charging of cold cars at extremely low temperatures for the first time.

Under the extremely cold condition of-30 ℃, take Tengli N7 as an example, the full scene intelligent pulse self-heating technology increases the battery heating rate by 230% compared with the traditional scheme, reduces the battery full charge time by 30%, and users in the north can also enjoy the fast charging experience in winter.

It can not only self-heat when charging, but also intelligently start the self-heating technology in parking and driving conditions to ensure the performance of the vehicle at very low temperature.

In the severe cold season in the north, with this self-heating technology, we can not only heat the battery faster and maximize the efficiency, but also shorten the energy replenishment speed of the battery, which is quite practical for users in the north.

From the charging technology pioneered by these industries, it can be seen that BYD not only paid attention to technological innovation a long time ago, but also attached great importance to the practical application of technology, and achieved good results.
