BYD delivers the first pure electric buses to Mexico to promote the electrification of public transportation

Recently, BYD Mexico delivered the first batch of 20 electric buses to the transportation government in Mexico City and put them into operation. This cooperation has a total of 55 pure electric buses, which is by far the largest single delivery of electric buses in Mexico. Mart í Batres Guadarrama, Mayor of Mexico City, Andr é s Lajous Loeza, Secretary of Mexico City Transportation Department, Rosario Castro Escorcia, General Manager of Metrob ú s Public Transportation system in Mexico City, Alberto Adib Carrera, Director of Promotion of Mexico National Financial institutions, Adri á n Escamilla, Executive Director of Mexico Airport Corridor Center, Rafael Burgos, Director of Enel X, and Zou Zhou, National Manager of BYD Mexico, attended the delivery ceremony.

This batch of buses will be put into operation on Mexico City Route 4 to help Mexico City realize the green transportation transformation. Mexico City Line 4, with a total length of 35 kilometers and 40 stations, will meet the daily commuting needs of about 120000 passengers every day. The 55 BYD electric buses in operation will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 5845 tons per year compared with traditional fuel vehicles, making a positive contribution to the improvement of air quality in Mexico City.

The BYD electric bus delivered this time is 15 meters long and has a low floor, which makes it convenient for passengers to get on and off. It has a maximum capacity of 130 passengers, a mileage of 200 kilometers, a battery capacity of 300 kilowatt hours and a charging time as short as 3 hours. The quiet driving of electric buses helps to reduce noise pollution. In addition, this batch of electric buses specially provide barrier-free facilities for people with disabilities and reduce the suspension height to provide a convenient and comfortable barrier-free travel experience for special passengers. In order to ensure public safety, these electric buses have also installed a communication system connected to the control center, which can synchronize the situation in the car in real time.

Rosario Castro Escorcia, general manager of Metrob ú s public transport system in Mexico City, said: "Zero-emission, sustainable transport operation solutions are essential. We have been committed to transportation technology reform since 2018, and this cooperation with BYD is an important manifestation of the transformation of Mexico's public transport system to electrification.
